November has been a crazy busy month in all the best ways! I had 13 sessions, ranging from Seniors to recitals, to families and newborns, even a couple weddings and an engagement session! My husband (who is also a photographer!) had 11 weddings this month! October and November are always busy for us, but we managed to balance family life with work, and now we have a week of vacation to look forward to, some of which will be spent visiting my parents up in NC to celebrate Thanksgiving. We will probably do puzzles, cook together, and play some family games, and I will be RELAXING.

We got our Christmas tree up and decorated with the kids this week, and my husband is hanging the lights on the house this weekend, which I am incredibly excited about and thankful for. We’ve never decked the house out before, so he is making all my Christmas dreams come true! I am really glad to be going into this season, it’s the time of year when we have a little more time to be together with our kids, watch movies, read more, and do some crafting with them. Today, I came home from a coffee date with a friend and one of my teenagers was watercoloring some winter wonderland scenes to send out to family, so we are starting strong!

Last weekend was my Christmas mini session at Minter’s Farm, and the weather was gorgeous! We couldn’t have asked for a better day. I loved being out in the sun and documenting some cutie kids and families. I didn’t even need a coat! I’m considering another round of Christmas minis the first week of December, but this time I’d use my studio. I’m envisioning kids in their Christmas jammies with a backdrop of fairy lights, maybe Mom and Dad reading them a book and playing with them, something really simple. I really love and prefer a more lifestyle approach to documenting the seasons of life, and I am curious to know if there is any interest in that. It would also be fun to use my film camera, in addition to digital. Film images have this dreamy softness to them that is unique to that medium, and I think families might love having that as an added option.

Anyway, I just wanted to pop in and say hello! I hope everyone is able to slow down a bit over the coming weeks, even if it’s just a little bit, to spend time with family, to pick up a book, to rest and connect with your people. I’ll be sending out a Black Friday deal for 2026 family sessions, so be on the lookout! Happy Thanksgiving!
