IT'S SENIOR YEAR!
You've made it, you can see the finish line, graduation is on the horizon. This is a season of transition and anticipation, and you'll feel it all year long. You've got so many "firsts" and "lasts" happening, it makes your head spin! Since I'm a storyteller and a story lover, senior sessions are particularly special, as it's a coming-of-age tale that I get to document.
Below, you will find some helpful information as you think about what you want your session to look like. If you have an idea or need help with ideas after you book a session, we will get a chance to talk about it during your planning call. Now, let's get down to some FAQ.
FAQ
When should I book my senior session?
Anytime during your senior year (including the Summer before school starts). Fall and Spring sessions are most popular. If you plan to use your photos for a senior page in the school yearbook, make sure you know the deadline for photo submissions and plan accordingly!
Where do senior sessions take place?
We will choose a spot that suits you, and I have a few in mind. I've shot throughout Peachtree City, Fayetteville, Senoia, and Newnan. We will find a location you love that reflects your personality.
What should I wear?
Wear an outfit that you feel comfortable and confident in. We can incorporate your favorite accessories, too. Plan on something fun and casual. I encourage you to bring another outfit to change into for more variety. Two outfits gives you some wiggle room if you can't decide what you like best.
I don't know how to pose. Is that okay?
It is absolutely 100% normal that you are not sure how to pose, unless, of course, you're a model or regularly have paparazzi following you around (are you that famous??). You don't need to know what to do in front of the camera because that's my job. I'll give you direction throughout the session so you never have to wonder what to do with your hands.
Can I bring something that's important to me?
YES! If you have played an instrument or a sport, spent years reading and writing, given your time to drawing or painting, whatever it is, let's make it part of your session! Your car, your dog, your Nintendo Switch...all of these have been part of senior photos!
Can my parents or family come?
Of course. Parents are always welcome, and if you'd like a photograph or two with your parents or siblings while we're together, I'm happy to do that.
What happens if it rains?
Georgia weather doesn't always cooperate, so if we need to reschedule, we will choose another date.
How many photographs will I receive?
You'll receive a curated gallery of fully-edited digital images. I select the strongest photographs from our time together and edit each one in my natural, true-to-life style. You can expect to receive between 30-35 images in both color and black-and-white.
How will I receive my senior pictures?
Your finished photographs will be delivered through a private online gallery where you can view, download, and share your images. You'll also receive personal printing rights. If you choose, you can order prints directly from your gallery!
How long will it take to receive my gallery?
You don't have to wait long! Your gallery will be delivered within 7-10 days of your session.
How long do senior sessions take?
It's best to plan for a full 6o minutes, especially if you are bringing an outfit to change into. We move around quite a bit during sessions for lots of variety and you don't want to feel rushed.
During your session, I will pause and show you the in-camera shots so you can get an idea of what they look like. All clients appreciate this! They catch things they'd like to change, and we end up getting even better photos. I like to keep a little bit of conversation flowing, too, so we won't be awkwardly staring at each other, don't worry. Since I was a teacher before, my students gave me excellent opportunities to hone my witty banter. There is always something that elicits a genuine laugh, and I've yet to meet a senior who isn't excited to graduate and doesn't mind telling me all the things they won't be missing once they get out of high school.
