I recently photographed a prom session at Trilith in Fayetteville, and it was such a fun time with so much variety in one location. Sessions at Trilith are always a favorite. There’s so much variety within a short walk, textured walls, soft light, open spaces. It's lovely and relaxing, and it gives us the chance to create a gallery that feels laidback and real.


This session had a really easy rhythm to it. Nothing rushed, nothing overly posed, just time to move around, try a few different spots, and let things come together naturally. That’s usually when the best moments show up. My sweet little couple had a wonderful time, dressed to the nines and excited about the evening ahead of them!

I like to include a mix of images during prom sessions, some with a little movement, some with less movement, and a few that focus on the small details. Those in-between moments often end up being the ones people come back to later.


Trilith is a great location for prom photos because it doesn’t feel repetitive. Each corner gives a slightly different look, which means you walk away with a full gallery, minus needing multiple outfit changes or locations. It's a one-stop shop for an incredibly varied collection of images. We knew we wanted to incorporate a fun little activity for this session, so we went to Honeysuckle Gelato for some fun photos and excellent ice cream. I think they had such a great time eating a sweet treat (before a delicious taco dinner at Cantina Taqueria).

I encourage high school students especially to bring friends to their sessions, whether it's prom photos or a senior session, having a buddy to goof off with adds a great deal of fun and personality to the photos, and you'll have that sweet memory together for years to come!
